This one belongs to my mate Rich. He's ridden it for about 3 years and has added something a bit newer and lighter to the collection which means this lovely 1994 Cannondale CAD3 R500 has been consigned to ‘winter bike’ duties. It came in for a full service and – while it had been serviced in the past – I thought it needed a bit of TLC. So I stripped it down and cleaned up all the bits that came off, some of which you see here…

… the shifters were getting lazy and wouldn’t lock out to keep the bike in gear – a consequence of 23 gears of grease building up in there – so a good flushing through and light greasing had brought them back to life.

The frame got a clean and polish (its Orange after all!!) and built it back up with new cables throughout and some Fabric Knurl Bar Tape (quickly becoming my bar tape of choice).

I hope he likes the end result. Just in case your interested – this is the Refresh Service Summary that he got – with the Invoice!!

It’s going to be a cold one this weekend – wrap up and get out on the bike!
