Because on Saturday he was entered in @revolve24 at Brands Hatch and the current bike had just broken. Luckily, we had been planning a new Titanium Bike build - and the last of the parts had just arrived. Easy then. Turn a box of bits into a new bike configured to bike fit report measurements in time for a test ride at the end of the day and a 24 hour event the day after:

Frame: Enigma Etap

Groupset: Shimano 105 Compact 11 speed

Finishing kit : Fizik

A great choice as all the parts were black, really black, like, black! So on a polished titanium frame I like to think we ended up with something a bit special.

Paul came over and did the test ride himself with me alongside - in torrential rain for 5 miles and declared the bike good for Brands Hatch!

I hear it went well:

Texts received from the event:

19:33 - Bike is amazing

10:47 - Bike is incredible

14:14 - My riding is done for the day and the bike has not missed a beat. Absolute joy to ride, every gear change silky smooth. Thank you for making this possible

My pleasure!

..and if your wondering what a bike build looks like - here's a time lapse of the process. Can you spot the somewhat obvious mistake that got quickly corrected? ...and yes - if you make it all the way to the end I did do the bar tape over and over - after all - as my Mum used to say "If you're going to do something - do it right"
